Air date: Friday, April 13th

The story opens with the Lone Gunmen hot on the trail of Elvis.  But the Elvis they find is a master of illusion (and African American, to boot) and the result of their labors is simply an embezzler jailed and Jimmy hauled off to a temporary detention.

A caller and long-time reader shows up at their door as they're doing the post-mortems for their last escapade.  Her son is on death row in a Texas prison for a murder that she knows he didn't commit.  She insists he's been framed.  Byers and the others are noncommittal, but at Jimmy's urging they decide to look into the case further.

Pfeiffer: Darren Burrows. Lowry: Robert LaSardo. Spike: Badja Djola. Wash: Kevin McNulty. Tollin: Aaron Pearl. Mrs. Pfeiffer: Betty Linde. Runselhoff: Gardiner Millar. Eames/Elvis: Theodore Thomas.
