And why are we doing this? Well,
to paraphrase Sarek in "Star Trek": "At the time, it seemed the logical
thing to do.
Thanks also go to our Faithful Researchers
-- Sally and Lensbeetle -- as well as to the folk on the Lone Gunmen Mailing
lists, who made suggestions, offered links and critiques, and generally
made our lives a lot easier!

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY FROHIKE (TOM BRAIDWOOD)!!!!
Yes,
it's the man's birthday and we're celebrating in IRC!
Stop by and raise a virtual libation to the man of our
dreams (and to one of the most amazing directors Canada has
ever produced!) We'll be hanging out in IRC from about
8pm EST to midnight-ish PST.
Erynn
received a letter from Mr. Braidwood today with an update
about his projects! Here's what he had to say:
"I
worked on a couple of low budget shorts as an assistant
director. The shows were a bit like "Tilt" - no
money but fun. Shortly I'll be going back to work for the
CBC on the series "Edgemont." I'll be doing four
episodes back to back. I did a couple last year and had a
great time. It's youth oriented and the kids are
terrific."
Tom promises
to keep us updated as new stuff happens, and we'll see if we
can find the titles of the indie shorts he did the AD work
for. If you wrote him last year, he said that he had just
gotten fan mail -- some of it dating back to February (1013
was slow to forward, apparently) and is now in the process
of answering letters..

Back from
Hawaii, where we got the son married off, and did some
hiking around the volcano, Kilauea, which put on a nice
little lava show for us the days we were there!
Back
here in Gunfenville, we have some updates and announcements:
Website
update:
http://anotherlonegunmen.populli.net (lots of pictures and videos archived there)
X-Treme X-Men Comic #15 (Marvel): Cameo appearance of
the Lone Gunmen. Da artist likes 'em, I suspect!

the better writers (and better KNOWN writers) in Gunfen
fandom today: Sally and Erynn. Book 2 of what Sally
lovingly calls "The Beast" is up there (note:
these are full novel-length works! And she's already
on Book 8!) http://gadsogunmen.topcities.com
Pyrts sez "read it! It's SO goood!"

On again,
off again. We have NO idea why Dean was dropped from
the Harrahs' website listing (or why they misspelled his
name in the first place, poor guy!) but apparently he's
still going to be there! So the Gunfen expedition is
on, and you're invited!

No, I
haven't finished the redesign yet (busy month, and will get
busier at the end). However, we have lovely reports
by Erynn and MagsRose on the Tilt fundraiser as well as a link to a
fanzine with a partial interview (online) with BRUCE
HARWOOD. Check out Phoenix
Forum Online (the interview link is down toward the
bottom of the page, under Issue 12)

MagsRose's
Report from the Vancouver "Tilt" Fundraiser
The
"Tilt" auction continues and we've got lots
of Gunmen Goodies. Proceeds
from this go to help finish the independent film,
"Tilt", starring Tom Braidwood.

Yes, it's done by Erynn and
me. http://www.bruceharwood.com
Main Contender for "World's Stupidest Conspiracy Theory"
Well,
now some genius (after having been laughed
off at least one conspiracy board) has
convinced several reporters that his
"eerie coincidences between Lone Gunmen
Pilot and 9/11" idea is worth
reporting. Ya woulda thought that any
reporter worth his or her salary would
simply hie off to the archives and find out
that the ONLY similarity to the whole thing
was the target -- and that the WTC was a
terrorist target (in fiction and movies) for
quite awhile.
Apparently
this hasn't occurred to any of the
"fact checkers." If we use
the notion of similarities, we can logically
deduce that Mother Teresa (who drank milk as
a child) is linked to Osama bin Ladin (who drank milk
as a child.) Using this sort of
research, we can also draw "eerie
parallels" between the Avengers
episode, "The
Medicine Men." and the 1982 Tylenol
Murders.
Although
it's nice to se a renewed interest in the
episode and the guys, it's a shame that the
force behind it was a brainless
connect-the-dots assumption that doesn't
hold up under any investigation.
Even
Jimmy wouldn't have swallowed THIS
whopper. The world needs more people
like the fictional "Lone
Gunmen." It does not need more
people like the crackpot theorist who add up
"1" and "2" and publish
"convincing proof" that the sum of
the numbers is "4."
So
now that the X-Files is ending... now what?
No,
we're not going away. We will update
the site as we can with news about the
actors and their upcoming projects as well
as keep updated with Lone Gunmen fandom
news.
So
how will you know when things change around
here? Fear not, bewildered
one, the Geekette has the perfect
answer: spy software!
This
is a class of software that will snoop on
sites you're interested in and email notify
you when things change on that site.
One of the ones I found is "spyonit.com":
