Anonymous Source Says Hack Was An Inside Job

I talked with an insider at E-Com-Con, who wished to remain anonymous, about the hacks and security problems that have emerged this week.  This is what the employee had to say in private email:

I may get fired, or even worse, for coming clean about this, but my conscience no longer allows me to stay silent regarding this matter.

E-Com-Con itself is behind the hacking. It wants to set up these three individuals who would seem to have done the hacking, apparently known as "The Lone Gunmen" based on their hyperlinks, as the fall guys. Our security has learned of their plans to publish reports about the true nature of the Octium chip. By portraying them as a group of juvenile hackers (have you seen the pictures?), our
corporate espionage team hopes to discredit any future claims they may make about E-Com-Con's products.

And while the "hack" may bring to light charges that E-Com-Con's new Octium chip invades the privacy of those who will use it, it's all a "smoke-and-mirrors" ruse to deflect attention away from more insidious plans. While E-Com-Con will agree to government-mandated modifications to the Octium in light of the controversy, the resulting chip will be much more dangerous... and guaranteed approval by certain factions within the government as part of a deal that's already been made. Even worse, technology will make the chip's evil nature much harder to decipher by conventional means.

Please, do not believe the lies!
