The
Morris Fletcher Collection of Second
Season Rumors
Okay,
folks... I've heard entirely too much of
this. The real truth is that nobody
but the deep insiders on Fox know what's
going to happen to the show -- and it may
not be fully decided until Tuesday or Wednesday.
This, however, has not stopped people
from chiming in and claiming they have special
knowledge.
So
in the spirit of things, we're collecting
the Official Season 2 Rumors. No matter
what happens, ya saw it here first, right?
Right!
- The
show is definitely canceled
- Fox
is airing four new episodes of Freakylinks
it still has in the can in the TLG
time slot and then shifting Dark Angel there
for the summer. The fate of TLG is
still to be decided.
-
- Dark
Angel will be on Fridays this fall. TLG
will probably end up on the FX channel where
new episodes will be made
-
- The
X Files (askthexfiles@fox.com) said that
it wasn't until summer that the
fate of LGM would be known. (note: this
isn't something that Ye Editors heard. It
was reported by someone on a news group.)
-
- It's
scheduled for summer reruns.
-
- Barney
is slated to guest star. (just wanted
to see if you're awake).
-
- The
show will be canceled next week (NOTE: just
for your perspective, this prediction was
made on Usenet, back on March 18th)
-
- It'll
be put on hiatus like Freakylinks until
Fox sees if some of the new shows tank badly.
If they do, "Lone Gunmen"
will be called up for another set of 13
episodes.
-
- It'll
get canceled, but reruns will show up on
F/X.
-
- If
the X-Files doesn't come back then CC will
get Fox to put the Lone Gunmen in the 9PM
time slot on Sunday nights.

acommodating everyone's tastes, we present the "Morris
Fletcher Library of Spoilers and Rumors."
Some
of the following are true. Some of them are weird
speculations by fans based on partial information. Some of
them were planted as deliberate red herrings. It's up to you,
dear reader, to figure out which are which.

"Believe
the Lie..." (Spoilers & Rumors)
From good sources, strange
sources, ... and Morris Fletcher sources
There
were so many rumors about what would be
in various episodes that we decided we'd
do our own set of rumors. And since
rumors can be false, we decided that (what
the heck) we'd make up a few of our own.
Here's the ones for the first season
and the sources:
- The
original quote (from a very good source
who loves to tease us) was "Jimmy
and Skinner get close." They
were, of course refering to Pileggi
playing Jimmy playing Skinner. We
added a twist of our own -- and the
resulting rumor was quite false!Jimmy Bond
and Skinner ... uh... do some real close bonding moves in
the 9th episode.
- Another
true tidbit from our reliable source.
Two words: Langly.
Cows. ('nuff said)
- A
semi-true tidbit. This one got
mangled in the retelling (refers, of
course, to "Madam, I'm Adam")
Byers and
Jimmy get help from a guy who talks to aliens from another
dimension. (They're not saying if it's the guy who's so
helpful or the aliens who are so helpful. Or both.)
- We
knew this one was true Two
words: Frohike. Tango. (believe the lie!)
- Absolutly
false --in fact, Pyrts made this one
up not knowing that there were ANY plans
to put McKean on a show. Imagine
our outright astonishment.... There's good
news and bad news. The good news is that Jimmy Bond
finds his own 'snitch.' The bad news is that
it's Morris Fletcher.
- Rumor.
The Alien
Bounty Hunter appears in one episode.
- We
knew this one to be true. Skinner
(Mitch Pileggi) appears in an episode.
- Turned
out to be false, alas. Hawking's
one of my heroes. Dr. Stephen
Hawking does a cameo in one of the episodes.
- True.
Later confirmed in interviews
by Snedden. Jimmy Bond does an Elvis impersonation.
- True.
In one
episode, we have a flashback with the Lone Gunmen as
kids.
- True.
We knew about this one fairly
early. Langly does a rectal palpation on a bull
("Turn your head and cough, please.")
- True,
again. . One sequence
features midget wrestling. Frohike is NOT involved,
thank you.
- True.
Byers gets beat up by a Death Row prisoner -- and he deliberately goads the
guy into doing it. We're not sure if this is before or
after the shower scene.
- Absolutly
false. We were having too many
true rumors in here. Time to plant
a red herring. .Frohike gets
involved in an ultra-survivalist group while tracking down a
scientist and gets a taste of some paranoia that's a bit too
extreme -- even for them!
- True.
We did get some garbled interpretations
when we checked other sites. Chimps, red
herrings, and more Chimps. Super intelligent chimps
being trained for military service.
- Ah
lied like a big yellah dawg!. In an effort
to pay off their printing bill for the previous issue, the
guys start investigating the printer. It turns out
he's into printing more than just newspapers. Tisk,
tisk.
- It's
a good thing my ancestry didn't include
Pinocchio. My nose would have
been six feet long for this one! .The fruit
growing industry has a bad apple in the barrel and the guys
soon find themselves up to their ears in a web of
corruption,
bribery, and philandering senators.
- True.
And we knew it! One scene
features Frohike being given a bath -- by a woman.
